Personal - Daleth's Pages

Daleth is Tasmanian, but has been living in the UK for (...mumble, mumble...) years, and in Maryport since 2000.  He has been an avid reader all his life, and a book collector for nearly as long.  He opened the Cobra Books warehouse in 2006.

His favourite fiction authors are (in no particular order) Philip K. Dick, Brian Aldiss, H. P. Lovecraft, Jorge Luis Borges, Peter Carey, Patricia Cornwell, Peter Ackroyd, Jane Austen and Anne Rice (apologies to all the others, I had to stop somewhere...).

Daleth has worked for the Scenery Preservation Board and the Youth Hostels Association (in Tasmania) and the Auckland Harbour Board (in New Zealand).  He has been a self-employed leatherworker and made Jersey ice cream for a farm in Derbyshire.  He has been employed by Social Services in the Mental Health, Learning Disabilties, and Older People departments, and built some of the stone walls on the High Peak Trail.

He moved to Maryport as his Millennium gift to himself.  He is a former Chair of the Maryport Town Centre Traders and Deputy Chair of the Maryport Neighbourhood Partnership.

He lives in Cumbria, but his heart is in Tasmania, he flirts with Menorca, and has an ambition to live in Africa.

He has been a student of the Qabalah since 1983, and a follower of the Western Spiritual Tradition even longer.
