B. The Creative Seven Doubles

The Double Letters can be attributed to the Tree
as a model of any creative act.

Obviously, the elements may be rudimentary or even absent.  For example, at its simplest, switching on an electric light has only three steps; deciding to do it, doing it, and the light coming on. However, if you thought the bulb might have blown, there might be a 'fingers crossed' moment as you started to move the switch (Gimel, Daleth) and a 'thank goodness' moment when it actually lit up (Resh).

On the other hand, a complex creative process - writing a novel, designing a building - might have dozens of 'sub-Trees' and repetitions of sequences; but the prionciple remains the same.

Look at the attribution of these letters to the Tree.

First to the Sephiroth, then to the Paths.

Sephiroth

Paths

ב

Chokmah:

Active,

Decisive

Kether - Binah

Chokmah and Beth share the role of connecting Kether to Binah – how you get from the inspiration to commitment

ג

Binah:

Receptive

Kether - Tiphareth

Binah is regarded as synthesising the work of the Supernal Triad; Gimel is the visible expression of this, and enables the following 6 Sephiroth to come into existence.

ד

Da’ath:

the union of Chokmah and Binah

Chokmah - Binah

Just as Daleth is the experience of the connection between Chokmah and Binah, so Da’ath is their union (not the result of the union, the union itself).

כ

Chesed:

Active,

engaging

Chesed – Netzach

Chesed is the positive, creative action that explode Yetzirah into being; the Path of Kaph carries this energy down the Active Pillar of the Tree.

פ

Peh:

Receptive, discriminating

Netzach – Hod

Geburah focuses the energy of Chesed, and this is experienced as Peh picking up the energy of Kaph and carrying it forward.

ר

Tiphareth – Equilibrium, beauty

Hod – Yesod

The focusing of Geburah brings about the Equilibrium of Tiphareth; and the activity experienced as Peh produces the experience of Resh.

ת

Malkuth – action, result, finality

Yesod - Malkuth

Here the result is expressed in Action (in Malkuth) and experienced in Tav.
